Snow White and the Seven Must Haves

White is my all time favourite colour but for obvious reasons I'm often too scared to wear it in fear of ruining its flawless surface. However when worn well (and kept away from the red wine), white can highlight and brighten an outfit as well as any splash of colour can. Buying white pieces can be difficult when safer colour options are available however my rule with white is to stick with statement pieces ie a jacket or piece of jewellery. I'm big on finding unique pieces in cut, design and materials and I find this helps block colours such as whites add a bit of interest and dimension to the outfit. Here are my seven must-have white items of the season:
This Balmain blazer is perfect for adding a modern and clean edge to any look, even if its just a pair of jeans and heels. LOVE.

Basic white tee is a must for any closet whether summer or winter, its so versatile and can be easily transformed from day to night with a few accessories and a pair of heels. My favourite for basics with a twist is Anthropologie.

A classic that is always in style, the white Chanel quilted flap bag.

These pumps from Charlotte Olympia are the perfect mix of clean white and unique detail. Perfect for adding a little spice to you feet!

Michael Kors a favourite of mine, can always rely on him to produce great quality looks and styles each season. I love the crisp white leather contrasted with the silver hardware, bling without actually being bling, LOVE LOVE!

Henri Bendal's range of cuff bracelets are great for adding a splash of colour. With every hue available under the sun you can layer and mix and match to sure your outfit.

Ok so not strictly a white item, however I couldn't help but add this to the list. Sass and Bide's pieces are always creative and thoughtful and with their use of colour graduation, I'm certainly claiming this as my next must have purchase!

There you have it, my Snow White and The Seven Must Haves complete! Please feel free to share your white treasures with me!!

Fashion Comes and Goes But Style Never Fades

When I think of glamour and style I think immediately of the 30's, 40's and 50's. An era where experimentation in design and fabric were to compliment the womanly physique and not just cover it, leading to a romantic age in shapes and cuts. With all the diversity of this time in fashion, the sweeping silloutes that domintated evening wear trends are by far my great loves from the era. Icons such as Marilyn, Sophia Loren, Lauren Becall, Lucielle Ball and designers such as Dior, Givenchy, Chanel and Madeleine Vionnet have all become fashion inspirations that can be seen resonating in todays styles and trends.
My favourite mordern designer whose work is often reminicent of this era is Carla Zampatti. Her shapes and designs bring the romance back into today's fashion. If I could have a closet full of her artwork, I'd be a very happy lady!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!
If you know any other designers that work within these historically romantic guidelines, feel free to share!
